Problem's of tour Overseas - for female travelers

Did you ever felt insecure while traveling? Did you found those vulture eye's scratching and torn out each part of your body and soul? It's so usual nowadays, to ignore and move on. Being a human we all born with the curiosity to explore the new aspects of this nature. An individual in life might have visited somewhere across this globe. 

It is frequently warned to women regarding their international travels that -"when you are traveling at places of which we are unfamiliar of. We might walk in the places with wide-opened eyes and have a keen watch what's happening in our surroundings."Unfortunately, women are more likely found to be the victims of sexual harassment and assault as compared to men. Harassment and assault range from verbal harassment at domestic and workplaces, to crude propositions, to groping in public places to rape. Unwanted touching and inappropriate comments are experienced by every single woman in this world. Sexual harassment is common in this developing world. In addition, to these issues, female travelers face some challenges besides harassment like- illness, accidents, and political violence. Suggesting women stay at their homes is not the appropriate solution to this.

Street crime

Not only female travelers but often, every 2 out of 3 women is a victim of street crime.Which is noted to be increasing with time. One of my colleagues who was a victim of jewel snatching told me- " I was boarding my train and suddenly two men come closure to me. One of them kept me engaged in conversation with him. After few seconds I found blood  on my shoulder then I realized that my gold earrings were snatched." This was one of the incidences she shared with me. I still remember one of my friends was so scared of a man that she had to stop coming out of her home, especially in the midnights. When men take your friendly nature the other way we must know to say 'NO' or respond strongly. 

Alone female travelers must look out for their safety first if they are traveling at the midnight. Try to travel with a group of friends (local or international) whenever you go out. Also, the local bus drivers and passengers can often provide tips about the relative safety or danger of certain areas.

Accidents can be life-threatening

Life-threatening dangers are rare for travelers. But road accidents are the chief killer for overseas travelers. Ignored traffic signals, cars can be driven on the wrong side of the road and the unsafe sidewalks you must be aware of. On using public transports you must be careful with all your senses alert. Try to travel during the day and know that first-class buses may be safer than third class. 

Sexual harassment

If she is white then she is probably the prey for those vultures on a hunt. Females can't roam even in their home garden or terrace especially in the midnight hours. How says there might be someone setting trap for her. What we behave with our friends is being noticed by our surroundings. One of my friends opened up her experience of her trip. She was with her best friend with whom she was on a walk just around her hotel. There she found a group of boys, their strange looks had given her intuitions that they might be thinking of her as she can be available to anyone. There are various ways to respond to such harassment either they are doing sight raping or touching or grabbing you in public.

Different responses may be meant something different to them like saying a simple "No" politely or saying "Maybe" in some cultures. You can modify it according to the situation. Some situations may require a more forceful message. Women abroad, as well as at home, are much more likely to be sexually assaulted by men they know than by strangers.

We can urge female travelers to think carefully about their safety before leaving their homes they do prudent steps to increase their safety on roads. This didn't allow your fear to conquer you. Don’t let it prevent you from going overseas, and don’t let it ruin your plans. Be smart. Be alert. Be prepared. Stay safe, but don’t stay home. Don't encourage others to take away your freedom.😌
